Back lit LED panel VS edge lit LED panel

What we want to say is that the new LED flat panel of back lit LED panel.

The back lit LED panel has several advantages over the edge lit LED panel:

First, high light efficiency. The light emitted by the back lit LED panel is directly irradiated through the diffusion plate without passing through the light guide plate, which improves the light efficiency of the lamp.

Second, low cost. The cost of the light guide plate is omitted, the cost of the lamp is reduced, the internal space is large, and the design is more flexible.

Third, light lamps. Because the light guide plate is omitted, the weight of lamps is reduced.

Fourth, high reliability. In lamp design, the performance of various components and materials will determine the overall performance of lamp products. The more components in lamps, the lower the reliable performance.

Moreover, the light guide plate and reflective film of the edge lit LED panel will always be exposed to high temperature, which is easy to age and turn yellow, affecting the light output efficiency and service life.

Compared with the edge lit LED panel, the back lit LED panel also has some disadvantages:

First, the back lit LED panel can not be made too thin.

The reason is that there needs to be a certain distance between the light source and the diffuser, otherwise the lamp will produce bright spots.

As the thickness increases, the cost of the direct LED panel lamp housing will also increase. At the same time, the light efficiency of the luminaire will also decrease because of the longer transmission path of light.

Second, since the lamp beads are fixed on the back plate, the fixation and positioning of the lamp beads are another problem. Moreover, with the increase of LED panel lamp area, the problems such as deformation and bending of back plate after long-time hoisting also limit the development of direct lit LED panel lamp.
